Id
Four friends are forced to spend their last days alive underground in a fallout shelter safe from the anarchy and destruction that has become everyday existence. Together they must survive and fend off their own impulses for freedom and escape. Thinking about memories of the past without a future to grab onto, they slowly start to crack.
Behind the Scenes
Brothers Jeffrey and Kevin Kunze wrote the first draft of the script in Dec 2007 while researching fallout shelters and environmental disasters. The screenplay went through numerous revisions as the search for financing continued through the months.
Filming of Id began in San Francisco on August 2009 and wrapped in Sausalito on Oct 2010. The film premiered for free to the public at the Rev Vic Theater on Haight St. in San Francisco, California in Nov 2010. The date also coincided with Kunze’s 21st birthday and an after party with live music and drinks commenced. Duplication and production of DVDs was financed through Kickstarter on Jan 1st, 2011. Additional editing and final corrections concluded in Feb 2011 and the film was printed in March 2011.
